Research at the FWG Invasive species Any naturalization project is susceptible to invasive species. Disturbing the landscape, even to plant native species and to create a more natural habitat, will provide the conditions that allow invasives to become established. Starting with a pre-project inventory in 1991, we've been observing and keeping lists of birds, butterflies, other insects, plants, and a number of other species for 20 years. But "our environment" is so complex, it's difficult to find features that can be measured.
