OTTAWA-GATINEAU 2007 CBC RESULTS
88th Year
The Ottawa-Gatineau CBC was held on 16th of December 2007. This year, the weather did not cooperate. The temperature hovered around -13C with winds up to 43 KPH gusting to 61 KPH and to top it all off , during the count we had 17cm of snow. There were 92 observers in the field and 27 feeder watchers. Fifty-five species (55) were found and is probably the lowest since the mid 1960's. There were no new species and only 2 Tie Record Highs. The total number of birds seen was 16,172.Unfortunately , due to the weather, the usual evening compilation session hosted by Club des ornithologue de l'Outaouais, had to be cancelled.
