OTTAWA-GATINEAU 2005 CBC RESULTS

86th Year

The Ottawa-Gatineau CBC was held on 18th of  December 2005. This year the weather cooperated with a temperature hovering around zero and a mostly sunny day. There were 108 observers in the field and 39 feeder watchers. Seventy-eight species  (78) were found, 8 Record Highs, 1 New Species and 1 New Hybrid were seen this year as well as 3 high record ties. The total number of birds seen was 47,364, which is the highest  count for the 86 years of our CBC. The American Crow made up about 23% of that total.

The meal at the compilation session, hosted by Club des ornithologue de l'Outaouais, completed a great birding day.
